2019 Bullet Journal set up

January 10, 2019

It’s taken me a little while to overcome the post-Christmas lag and fully embrace 2019 so this is definitely a little late, but here’s my 2019 bujo set up.

I’m continuing the more minimalist look I adopted last year. Partly because it’s quicker to set up my spreads (with a freelance gig on top of my day job I’m needing to eek out all the time I can), and also because I like how it looks, it’s restful on the eyes and easy to read. However, because I’m determined that 2019 will be an exciting, fun year I wanted to fill my pages with colour. I’ve used a watercolour wash on my spreads to add some colour and I love how happy it looks.

2019 Bullet Journal set up yearly calendar spread

For my annual spread I’ve kept it all on a double page rather than 4. I’ve found that I don’t often refer back to this spread, I prefer to use the individual monthly ones instead, so I don’t need space for noting anything other than big events. I still need to think up a pretty header for this spread.

2019 Bullet Journal set up book tracker

This is the only tracker I’ve set up so far, I’ve digitised my social and blog trackers as I found that easier. As my year is going to be pretty unpredictable with travelling and then settling in New Zealand I’m just not sure what regular activities I’ll be doing for the next few months (apart from sunbathing haha!) I am looking to read a lot this year though. What with having lots of flights and beach days coming up it seems like the perfect opportunity to crack through my To Be Read pile. This tracker helps me keep track of the books I’ve read and what I thought of them, and on the other page I note down the next books on my list to read. Whilst I don’t necessarily read them in that order, it’s good to have a place to jot down recommendations or ones I’ve recently downloaded onto my Kindle.

2019 Bullet Journal set up weekly spread

I’m continuing to use this layout for my weekly spreads, for now. I’m also thinking about going even more minimalist and scrapping the boxes, so we’ll see if I do that in Feb. I like having my week pre-mapped out like this though, and this spread gives me additional room for weekly tracking and notes. I’ve just noticed that I haven’t put dates on this spread yet oops haha!

That’s my relatively simple set up for 2019. Like I say I’ll be out of full-time employment for at least 3 months and then after that I’ll have no idea what my plans/schedule or goals will be so I’ve kept it lean for now. The great thing about bullet journals is that I can constantly adapt it. So once I’m settled in my new life on the Southern Hemisphere I can think about new trackers and spreads to add.

Have you guys set up your 2019 spreads? Share your links in the comments so I can take a peek. 🙂

Love, Sarah x
