Beautiful Bristol: Colourful Cliftonwood
Autumn’s here and I don’t know about you but something I love to do in this season is go for long walks. It really makes me feel like I’m shaking away some of the cobwebs so I can stave off the desire to hibernate for just a little longer.
Around Bristol there are some beautiful parks and green spaces to go for long country rambles. Including, the always amazing Westonbirt Arboretum. But for this post I thought I’d focus on somewhere that’s just on my doorstep, the fantastically colourful Cliftonwood. Because sometimes you want some fresh air but you don’t want to venture too far from home. 😉
As a bonus it’s got some of the most instagrammable streets in Bristol, and as a colour lover I’m in heaven whenever I wander around here.
These rows of houses make fairly regular appearances on my Instagram feed, they look particularly good on a crisp blue-skied day.
I’m sure that by now you all know how fond I am of a colourful door. 😉 What I love about the houses in Cliftonwood is that the owners often paint their door in a fun contrasting colour, I’ve wondered if the neighbours discuss their colour schemes beforehand but I’ve been reliably informed that it’s a happy accident.
There are a few vintage VW vans that I see dotted around the city regularly, this one couldn’t have been parked in a more perfect spot.
I love capturing this foliage covered house in all seasons. When the leaves turn it’s particularly stunning.
It’s pretty hard to walk down these colourful Cliftonwood streets and not be cheered up. If I’m having a bad mental health day I’ll often treat myself to a chai to go, and take myself for a wander down these streets, snapping pics as I go. It always lifts my mood.
If walking is part of your self-care ritual or you just love colourful houses then Cliftonwood is a great spot to put on your Bristol bucket list. 🙂
Love, Sarah x
