Beautiful Bristol: Everyman Cinema Opening
On Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd opening night of the new Everyman Cinema on Whiteladies Road Bristol. We were given free tickets to see a film – we chose Spotlight as well as free food, snacks and drinks. It was basically the perfect way to spend an evening!
First up, the decor. The building is art deco and the interiors are styled perfectly, a mix of Old Hollywood and Mid Century styles mean low lighting, plush velvet seating and neon lights. The atmosphere was fab, really buzzy and the staff were amazing. We were queuing at the bar only to be lead away by a team member with an ipad who was able to sit us down and take our order right away. It’s a great way of relieving the queue and speeding up service.
When ordering food and drinks, and by the way the menu is quite extensive – they have their own cocktails as well as a selection of bottled lagers and ales, you are able to choose whether to have them served to you in the bar / lounge area or at your seat in the screen. we chose to have them delivered to our seats.
The decor is beautiful, they really make the most of the building’s original features.
I was obsessed with this walkway into two of the screens, I love the neon and Broadway style lightbulbs.
I want this cool angled sectional for my home!
Check out that legroom! The screens were great, I’ve now been twice to screen 2 and 3 and they’re both furnished with comfy velvet sofas and chairs, each have individual tables and chunky armrests. You have tonnes of legroom and due to their booking policy you’ll never be sharing a sofa with a stranger – great if, like me, you like to spread out.
As I said I’ve been twice now and I can highly recommend it, Everyman has a fantastic atmosphere which would be great for a date night or just a night with friends. Even if you’re more of a Netflix fan it’s a great spot to stop in for a drink.
