Review: Messy Weekend Hobbes sunglasses
[Disclaimer: Gifted] I was gifted this item in return for this review however all words and opinions are my own.
I love sunglasses, I’m never without them as years of wearing them means any tiny hint of sun leaves me squinting. I’m also weirdly (although probably justifiably!) paranoid about breaking or losing them so there are always a couple of extra pairs stashed in drawers and handbags. So when MessyWeekend reached out to see if I’d like to review a pair of their sunglasses I jumped at the chance.
This year I’m trying to shop more sustainably and consciously and MessyWeekend aligns really well with my values. They have partnered with the NGO 4THEPLANET and together they focus on sustainable solutions to cleaning up plastic waste in the Pacific Ocean. A cause close to my heart now that I live next to the Pacific.
For every pair of MessyWeekend’s sold they help facilitate the cleanup of 2kg of plastic waste.
Let’s firstly take a second to talk about the packaging. I’m a sucker for a cute little storage box so the sturdy, drawer box these came in is ideal. I love that ribbon handle and the pop of vibrant red inside!
I chose the Hobbes Crystal sunnies. The rounded style is my current go-to and I love the smoky, see-through plastic frames. I’m usually a tortoiseshell girl so these were something quite different. How cute is the gold MessyWeekend logo on the arms?
All MessyWeekend’s sunglasses come with a high-quality, category 3 lenses with full UV400 (UVA+UVB) protection.
The glasses look really cute on. They’re lightweight, with tinted enough lenses to make them the perfect hungover brunch accessories! I love the fresh, clean look of the frame which feels really sturdy and fits my little pea head well.
If you’re planning your post-lockdown holidays then a pair of MessyWeekend sunglasses should definitely be on your list! Not only are they a great product, but you can feel good that your purchase is directly supporting vital ocean cleaning initiatives.
Love, Sarah x
